Not everyone has three weeks to spend in the Himalayas, but that doesn’t mean you should miss the experience of reaching Everest Base Camp.

Our S I G N A TU R E Everest Base Camp Trek is designed for trekkers who want to maximize their time on the trail while minimizing the common travel challenges of the Khumbu region.

Instead of relying on the often unpredictable fixed-wing flights to Lukla, we FLY DIRECTLY FROM KATHMANDU TO NAMCHE BAZAAR BY HELICOPTER. This allows you to avoid airport congestion, flight delays, weather cancellations, and the long queues that are common during the busy trekking seasons.

We spend two nights in Namche Bazaar, giving your body valuable time to acclimatize before continuing deeper into the Khumbu Valley. From there, the trek follows the classic Everest Base Camp route through Phortse, Dingboche, Lobuche, Gorakshep, and Everest Base Camp, allowing you to experience the very best of the region without compromising on acclimatization.

After reaching Everest Base Camp, we continue back to Lobuche, where a shared helicopter returns you directly to Kathmandu, eliminating the long return trek and reducing the overall expedition time.

The result is a shorter, more efficient itinerary that maintains proper acclimatization while significantly reducing the risks of weather delays and logistical disruptions associated with fixed-wing flights.

The Trek to Base Camp

After arriving at Namche by helicopter we will start the seven days trek to base camp. Each evening we will stay in the best teahouse lodges on route and our Sherpa staff will supervise all food preparation in the lodge kitchens. We will take cautious acclimatization rest days at Namche Bazar.

The Route

Your journey begins with a scenic helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Namche Bazaar, bypassing the often-delayed fixed-wing flights to Lukla. This allows you to start your adventure comfortably while enjoying spectacular aerial views of the Himalayas.
We spend two nights in Namche Bazaar (3,440 m) to ensure proper acclimatization before heading higher into the Khumbu Valley. From Namche, the trail follows a quieter and more scenic route through the traditional Sherpa village of Phortse, offering breathtaking views of Ama Dablam, Thamserku, and the surrounding Himalayan peaks.
The trek then continues to Dingboche (4,410 m), where the landscape gradually changes from alpine forests to rugged high-altitude terrain. From there, you ascend to Lobuche (4,910 m) before making your way to Gorakshep (5,164 m), the final settlement before Everest Base Camp.
From Gorakshep, you’ll trek to the iconic Everest Base Camp (5,364 m), standing at the foot of the world’s highest mountain. This unforgettable experience brings you face-to-face with the Khumbu Icefall and the historic starting point of countless Everest expeditions.
After visiting Base Camp, you’ll return to Lobuche, where a shared helicopter flight takes you directly back to Kathmandu, eliminating the long descent and avoiding the uncertainties of Lukla flights.
This carefully designed itinerary provides a faster, more efficient way to experience Everest Base Camp while maintaining proper acclimatization and maximizing your time in the Himalayas.

• Single accommodation with breakfast in Kathmandu as per itinerary
• Sightseeing of Kathmandu, including guide and entrance fees.
• All ground transfers are as mentioned in the itinerary on private vehicles
• Helicopter flight from Kathmandu to Namche and from Namche to Kathmandu
• All meals (B, L, D) on OPEN/CHOICE Menu whilst on the trek with tea & coffee.
• Experienced local trek leader with a 1:4 assistant guide-to-client ratio
• Full support crew with one porter for every two trekkers

Altitude Junkies do not recommend flying to Lukla via fixed-wing aircraft due to the logistical challenges involved.
