Meet R I J W A NA K H A T U N

Rijwana Khatun is only ten years old, but her journey has already been tougher than most.
She lives in Ishworpur Municipality–5 with thirteen family members in a small mud house. During the monsoon, rain pours through the roof, and every storm brings uncertainty. The house has only two tiny rooms where seven or eight people sleep together.
Life became even more difficult when Rijwana lost her father after a long illness. To try and save him, the family borrowed money they are still struggling to repay. His passing left her mother to care for the family alone, often relying on the kindness of others just to put food on the table.

Since 2025, Rijwana has been part of the Altitude Junkies Education Sponsorship Program.
Thanks to the support generated through our expeditions, she now has access to school supplies, educational resources, and the encouragement every child deserves. Her confidence is growing, her academic results continue to improve, and with every report card, we see another step toward the future she has imagined.
